ELLIS RAY JEFFERSON
November 27, 1955 ~ May 17, 2021 (age 65)

Ellis Ray Jefferson, 65, of Pickens, passed away May 17, 2021 at his home. He was born November 27, 1955 in DeQueen, AR, to Elliston and Ella Mae (Baker) Jefferson.

Ellis was a member of the Kulli Chito Presbyterian Church of Bethel and had lived in McCurtain County since 2012 but living here off and on during his life. He enjoyed horses, fishing, caring for animals, and making jewelry. Ellis worked hard at the community center in Battiest/Bethel and was known to win a few chair volleyball games. He never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone.

He married Audrey Steiner Griffin on December 13, 2003 in Albuquerque, NM. They enjoyed their trips to Branson together and driving to different places.

Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, Elliston and Ella Mae Jefferson; his first wife, Theda Monahan Jefferson; sons, Buddy and Anthony Monahan; sister, Debbie Jefferson; brother, Williston Jefferson; along with many cousins and other family.

Ellis is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Jefferson, of the home; sisters, Jan Jefferson, of Idabel; grandchildren, Savannah, Jordyn, Brandyn, and Ashlyn; daughter-in-law, Dyanna Monahan, of Albuquerque; special cousins, Austin Jefferson, of Bethel, and Alton Noahubi, of Bethel; special friends, Linda and Emerson Wilson, of Bethel; along with other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 6PM ~ 8PM at Brumley Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, 2PM at Brumley Funeral Home with Bro. Emerson Wilson officiating. Wake Service will be Thursday, from 6-8, also at Brumley Funeral Home.

Burial will follow the service at Kulli Chito Presbyterian Cemetery, Bethel.
