HENSCHEL, MELVIN G.
Melvin G. Henschel, 69, of R. 1, Elkhart Lake, died Thursday evening at his home, after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Born June 6, 1901 in the Town of Centerville (Manitowoc County) he was a. son of the late Charles and Alvin Henschel. He attended district school in the Town of Meeme, and in 1916 was confirmed at the Bethel Evangelical and Reformed Church in the Town of Herman.
On April 11, 1929, he married Miss Martha Ebeling, of the Town of Herman at Trinity Lutheran Church, Howards Grove. Mr. Henschel operated a dairy farm in the Town of Herman and retired from active farming in 1960.
He had been employed at the Mayline Co., Sheboygan, until the present time. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Howards Grove, and served one term as a director for the Town of Herman School Board
Survivors are his wife; three sons, Chaplain Capt. Kenneth Henschel, Satellite Beach, Fla., Jerome, R. 1, Sheboygan, and the Rev. Marvin Henschel, of Norman, Okla.; one daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Elaine) Waack, R. 1, Kiel; 15 grandchildren; two brothers, Albert, Kiel, and Elmer, Manitowoc; four sisters, Mrs. Otto Ebeling, R. 1, Sheboygan; Mrs. Arno Kramer, R. 1, Newton, Mrs. Erwald Stock, Manitowoc and Mrs. Hugo Groskopf, Kiel.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Howards Grove. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Ballhorn Funeral Chapel, 1201 N. Eighth St., Sheboygan, from 3 p.m. Sunday until 11 a.m. Monday and from 12 noon until 2:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
