IRENE A GROHSKOPF

Irene A. Grohskopf, 78 of Kiel, died Friday evening, Feb. 14, 2003 at St. Nicholas Hospital.
She is the former Irene Henschel born April 23, 1924, daughter of the late Charles and Alvina Brandt Henschel. On Nov. 22, 1941, she married Hugo Grohskopf at Bethel UCC Town of Herman. The couple farmed in the town of Herman until 1965 when they moved to Kiel. Irene was also employed at Tecumseh Products for 17 years following her move to Kiel. She was a member of St. Peter's UCC in Kiel and was also a member of the Ladies Aid. She is a former member of St. John's UCC, Schwartzwald. Irene was active in many card clubs, she enjoyed baking, cooking and socializing, nothing was more important to her than spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of more than 61 years, Hugo; four sons, David and Claire of Howards Grove, Donald and Patt of Cleveland, Mark and Kathy of Sheboygan and Michael and friend Brenda Kyle of South Carolina. She is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren. Irene is further survived by one sister, Myrtle Kraemer of Kiel; sister-in-law, Anita Ehrenreich of Sheboygan. She was preceded in death by a very special grandson, David Grohskopf; four brothers, Albert, Melvin, Elmer and Edwin; four sisters, Elva, Violset, Hilda and Eveline.
Funeral services will be held at St. Peter UCC, Kiel with the Rev. Raymond C. Coombs officiating. Burial will be in the Kiel Cemetery.
