LYON DEWITT FUNERAL HOME OBITUARY – 1998
Herman Shofner, 77, of Saloma Road, Campbellsville, died Friday, May 15, 1998, at his home after an illness. He was the son of the late Wes Shofner & Lillie Hedgespeth Shofner of Larue Co., KY, and was a member of Zion Separate Baptist Church. Shofner was a retired logger and mill worker. Survivors include his wife, Mayme Shofner of Campbellsville; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Virgil and Doris Shofner of Campbellsville; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Dorita and Billy Price, and Malicia Taylor, all of Campbellsville; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Thomas Shofner; and 2 sisters, Nora Sprowles and Lucy Skaggs. He was also preceded in death by: 1 son and daughter, Dorman Shofner and Vera Shofner. Funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 1998 at Zion Separate Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Garland Skaggs and the Rev. Ronda Arnett officiated. Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Olyn Sprowles, Buddy Sprowles, Elbert Shofner, William French, Roger Miller and Larry Miller.
