Colleen White Peterson 1918 ~ 2010 Mom passed away on March 30, 2010.
She was the born July 21, 1918 to Henry White and Emily Jakeman in Lyman, Utah. She was the sixth of nine children. She married Willis O. Manwill in August of 1940. Together they had two sons: Craig Willis and James Felix. Willis died in a tragic accident in 1948. She then married Franklin B. Peterson in June of 1952. Together they had two sons: Franklin Deward and Brent William.
Colleen was a very hard worker and worked in the catering business most of her life. She lived the majority of her young adult life in Wayne County, Utah. She had many hobbies including, golfing where she was a member of the Forest Dale Ladies Golf League, where at the age of 77 she made a hole in one. She was known for her great skills in the home and could do it all. She loved being with family and friends and doing many activities with them such as dancing, camping, fishing, reunions, traveling, and water fights. She was an active member of the LDS church and held many callings, her favorite being a temple worker.
She is preceded in death by her two husbands, son, Craig; daughter in-law, Marla; grandson, Steven Peterson; one brother and five sisters.
She is survived by sons: James Manwill (Kathy), Frank Peterson (Charlotte), Brent Peterson, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grand-children.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 2 at 11 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary (6500 South Redwood Road) with a viewing one hour prior to services. There will be a viewing Thursday, April 1 from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Park.
