Dies at Home of Daughter following Funeral of Wife
George Weterman, aged eighty years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Doris DeBolt, at Columbus, Wednesday afternoon at 4:45 o'clock, following the funeral of his wife, Mrs. George Westerman, which was held at 2 o'clock Wednesday. Mr. Westerman was an invalid for several years and death resulted from shock and complications. The aged man was found dead by Mrs. DeBolt, when she returned home from the cemetery where her mother was buried.
He was born near Mexico, Ohio, Jan. 10, 1853, the son of John and Sarah Westerman. In Jan. 1879, he was married to Clara Shafer, who preceded him in death five days ago. After their marriage they moved to Tonawanda, New York, from there they moved to Rogers City, Michigan where he followed the occupation of farming until the couple moved to the home of their daughter in Columbus about 2 years ago.
Besides the children, Mr. Westerman leaves two sisters, Mrs Lode Babcock, of Tonawanda, New York and Mrs. Elizabeth Burt of New York.
Funeral services will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene at Columbus, Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Burial will be made in Union Cemetery.
