Perry James Reynolds, eldest son of Malcolm and Emma Fenton Reynolds, was born October 15, 1880 in Appanoose County, Iowa. He passed away August 20, 1972, at the age of 81 years, 10 months, and 5 days.
He was united in marriage to Nora Elizabeth Mason, November 4, 1904. To this union, eleven children were born. They made their home in Wayne, Adams, and Montgomery Counties. The past 3 1/2 years, Mr. Reynolds had been cared for in the Gillispie Nursing Home in Clarinda, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nora, and his brothers, Bert, Elmer, Tom, and Charley, 3 sons-in-law, two grandchildren, and one great grandchildren.
He is survived by his 11 children, Eva Crawford of Osceola, Iowa; Ruby Agnew and husband Darley of Pacific Junction, Iowa; Nina Agnew of Nodaway, Iowa; Everett and wife Myrtle of Greely, Colorado; Horatio and wife Gladys of Fairfax, Virginia; Herbert and life Mary Belle of La Habra, California; Ruth Adams of Clarinda; Imogene Miller and husband Glen of Corning, Iowa; Woodraw and wife Florence of Glendale, Arizona; Darrell and wife Marjorie of Lenox, Iowa; Francis and wife Ruth of Des Moines, Iowa, and one sister-in-law, Jewell Reynolds, of Centerville, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Mr. Reynolds was engaged in farming in his earlier years. He spent his life for his family. The last thirty years of his married life, he was the constant companion devoting his love and care to his invalid wife before her passing in 1961.
His gentle, quiet manner, his sparkling eyes, and devotion to his family, will be for a long time remembered and cherished by those who knew and loved him.
