Phillip G Owen, 74, formerly of Yates City died at 9:20 a.m. today at St Mary's Hospital. He had been a patient the past few days. He was born Jan 5, 1891, i Kahoka, Mo. He was married to Sadie Haynes in Galesburg on Oct 22, 1913. He had been a farmer but more recently had been a carpenter and painter. Mr and Mrs Owen moved to the Good Samaritan Home here about two years ago. She survives with three sons, Rollin of Bartonville, Merrill of Maquon and Gerald of Gilson; two daughters, Mrs Leona Goedeke of Maquon and Mrs Phyllis Cadwell of Abingdon; a sister, Mrs Roy Allen of Farmington; a brother, Lloyd of Abingdon, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded by an infant daughter, one sister and one brother. Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home, where friends may call Wednesday evening. Burial will be in Maquon Cemetery.
