Ernest Ray Morgan, 71, of 1006
E. 7th St., Muscatine, died at
2:40 a.m. today at Muscatine
General hospital. He had been in
failing health the past two years.
A retired button cutter, Mr. Morgan
was a Muscatine resident for 50
years. He was born April 15, 1892,
at Tipton, the son of James and
Melinda Dennison Morgan.
He was married first to Miss Grace
Erwin. He was married Sept 9,
1933, at Rock Island, Ill., to
Mrs. Sadie Raushenberger.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Sadie
Morgan; two sons, Ernest Morgan of
Letts and Ralph Morgan of Moscow;
four stepsons,Charles, Richard and
Mart Raushenberger of Muscatine
and Jack Raushenberger of
Bettendorf; two stepdaughters,
Mrs. Ernest Heuer of Bettendorf
and Mrs. Wayne Miller of New
Boston; two sisters, Mrs. May
Walker and Mrs. Myrtle Burr, both
of Wilton; 28 grandchildren, and
17 great grandchilren.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, three brothers, one
sister, first wife, a son Earl,
and a stepson Willis Raushenberser.
The body is now at the Ralph J.
Wittich funeral home where funeral
services will be held at 2 p. m.
Thursday. Rev. Ernest Worden will
officiate. Friends may begin
calling this evening at the funeral
home. Interment will be at Memorial
Park.
