Ernest R Morgan Sr. 54, died at 5:40 PM, Sunday at the University of Iowa Hospital from injuries resulting in a vehicle-pedestrian accident Friday, June 16. He resided at Rt 3 Muscatine. Born December 2, 1917 in Muscatine, son of Ernest Ray and Grace Erwin Morgan, he was a life long resident. He married Alice Mulvihill March 18, 1939 in Muscatine, was a member of the First Christian Church, Loyal Order of the Moose, VFW, and served in Europe in the Army in WWII.
Mr. Morgan had been in the construction business he past 25 years, the last 5 with his brother in the Morgan Construction Co.
Survivors include his wife, Alice, 1 son Ernest Morgan Jr of Muscatine, 2 daughters Mrs. Al(Patricia)Splett of Walcott and Mrs James (Marylin) Martin of Letts, 1 brother, Ralph of Rural Muscatine, his stepfather Harold Franklin, Muscatine and his step mother Sadie Morgan, and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother father and 1 brother Earl.
