*Clinton is my 3rd great grandfather.

Clinton Henry Beebe was born on 10 Jan 1805 in New York and died on 23 Jun 1878 in Arbela Township, Tuscola Co., Michigan. *Note that one or two census records indicate he was born in Vermont, but we believe he was born in New York based on other census records, his children's death certificates and a biography on one of his sons which indicates Clinton was from New York.

Clinton was the son of Eli Putnam Beebe, Sr. (1782-1863) and Sally Ann TRAIN (1780-1830).

His siblings were: Harriet (1805- ), Lucia L. 'Lucy' (1808-1864), Electra (1811- ), Clarissa (1815- ), Eli Putnam Jr. (1819-1903), Parley L. (1819-1906), and Accorden H. Beebe (1825- )

**Clinton and Harriet were twins and were born on 10 Jan 1805 in Vermont.

Clinton married Caroline WARNER (1804-1894) in 1825 in New York. They had the following children:

Lucilia (1825- ), Charles (1827-1913), Eli Henry (1828-1908), Ephraim Carlos (1833-1912), Cornelia L. (1836-1929), Abryon 'Byron' (1839-1910), Francis M. (1840-1921), Edwin (1843-1863), and Hyland Clifford Beebe (1844-1914).

Per the book, "Portrait and biographical record of Genesee, Lapeer and Tuscola counties ... By Chapman Brothers, Chicago [page 317], the Beebe family moved from New York to Michigan in 1843. This biography of Clinton's son, Francis, also indicates that Clinton and Caroline had a total of nine children - two daughters and seven sons.

We have not found any early census records for Clinton and Caroline, but we did find them on the following census records:

1850 - Attica, Lapeer Co., Michigan
1860 - Birch Run, Saginaw Co., Michigan
1870 - Birch Run, Saginaw Co., Michigan

Clinton died on 23 June 1878 in Arbela Township, Tuscola Co., Michigan and is buried in Arbela Township in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Clinton's direct Beebe line came to the American colonies in 1649 when Clinton's 7th great grandfather, John Beebe (1628-1708) came to the colonies from Broughton, Northamptonshire, England. John came in 1649 with his brother, Samuel, and the rest of their family came over in 1650 with their father (their mother and one sister having died in England before the Beebe family sailed). Sadly, their father, John Beebe (1600-1650) died on the voyage over but left an accounting of his children and belongings in his will written on 18 May 1650 on board the ship, Speedwell.

The Beebe's were instrumental in settling some of the first towns in early New England and much has been written about them.

*There is one more child whose burial we know of, but I did not add his memorial page so I cannot link him. However, his memorial number is:

Ephraim Carlos Beebe - Find A Grave Memorial# 66457760

**We have not been able to find the burial place of Clinton Henry and Caroline's son Abryon 'Byron' Beebe who died on Jan 5, 1910 in Oakland, Alameda Co., California. If anyone knows where Abryon is buried, we would appreciate it if you would let us know.
