She grew up in Virden and was a resident there for over 20 years before moving to Springfield in 1964. She was employed as a clerk in the personnel department with the State of Illinois Department of Central Management Services.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Theresa "Chick" (Calvin)Robinson, Tina (Edward) Hickey, Edna Bumpus and three brothers: John (Eilline) Bumpus, Robert (Helen) Bumpus and Ernest (Lela) Bumpus.
She is survived by her husband James, daughter Gloria (Peter) Paladino of Claremont, CA; son Richard James Hamilton of Cherry Hill, NJ; six grandchildren; one sister Barbara (Edward) Williams and one brother James L. (A. Patricia) Bumpus both of Springfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Mass was held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield, IL with the Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery also in Springfield, IL.
