Alousius Joseph "Allie" Bumpus died October 5, 1951 at the home of his sister.

He was born in Kentucky to John R. and Agnes Teresa Clark Bumpus, they preceded him in death.

He is survived by five daughters; Mrs. Theresa (Calvin) Robinson, Mrs. Edna (Al) Smith, Mrs. Catherine (James) Hamilton, Martine "Tena" Bumpus and Barbara Bumpus all of Illinois. Four sons; John (Eileen) Bumpus, Robert A. (Helen) Bumpus, Earnest (Lela) Bumpus and James L. Bumpus all of Illinois. Two sisters; Mrs. Aleen Frantz and Sister Mary Denis O.S.U.; Two brothers; William Otto and James R. Bumpus; and 18 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Church with Internment in Calvary Cemetery in Louisville Kentucky.
