Mary Lucinda Vickers was born to unknown parents in Scott Co., Virginia. She became the bride of Silas Ratliff Gulley in either Nickelsville or Gate City, Scott Co. Virginia. There children were: Martha Cordelia Gulley 1879 – 1935, she married Joulas George Mires in Texas; Alvis Patton Gulley 1881 – 1942, He married Julia Ann Gulley in Hawkins Co, Tennessee; Azalea Gulley 1882 – 1961, she married James M Setliff in Tulare Co. California; Sarah Gulley 1884, she was in the 1900 Tulare Co. census; John Franklin Gulley 1885 – 1946, he married Mable Clara Walker in Hawkins,Tennesse; Lydia Gulley 1885 – 1926, she never married, and died in Tulare; Mollie Catherine Gulley 1887 – 1963, she married William A Neal in Tulare Co., CA; Jeanette Gulley 1888 – 1958
she married Frank Hicks May in San Luis Obispo, California; and Frederich Jackson Gulley 1892 – 1977, he died in Tulare Co.

By the year 1900 Mary Lucinda Gulley and her husband Silas, and children, Cordelia Gulley 20, Alvin Gulley 19,
Azzelee Gulley 17, Sarah 'Jeanette' Gulley 16, Lydia Gulley 14, Molly Gulley 12, and Frederich Gulley were installed on a farm near Tipton, Tulare, Co.,California.

In 1910 found the family livig on county road between Tulare and Waukena. They were living in rented house and employed as a farmer. Azallia had married a man named Nickelson and was living at home, but Mr, Nickelson was not a member of the household.

In 1920 they were still living on rented property.
Silas now had a dairy farm.

On Dec. 29,1026, Silas passed away. Family and friends attended his funeral service at Goble's Funeral Home
before gathering at the Tulare Cemetery for the interbment service and to bid him farewell.

In 1930 Lucenda was living on 09 Lincoln av Oildale, Kern Co, California in the home of her son-in law, James Setliff.

She was still living there when the Lord called her home on May 19, 1937. She was buried beside her beloved husband in Plot: EAST 8 14 4 of the Tulare Cemetery.
