On July 21, 1919 she married Manley B. Belden in Hennepin County, Minnesota. The couple had a baby daughter who died as an infant and is buried in Jacob & Sarah Stark's plot in Kasson, Minnesota.
The couple moved to Minneapolis where Manley was a barber and a factory worker. They had 4 more children; Lavonne, Warren, Donald and Geraldine. Bernice was a homemaker and she loved to paint ceramics and play poker and canasta with her siblings and neighbors. Every Saturday she walked 16 blocks to downtown Minneapolis to do some shopping.
Manley retired and they moved to Phoenix, Arizona for their health and to be near their daughter Geraldine. Manley died in Phoenix in 1972, their son Warren died in 1977. Bernice later moved back to Minneapolis to be close to her grandchildren. She died in Coon Rapids, Minnesota on March 3rd, 1982. She was survived by a son, Donald (Val) of California, daughters LaVonne (Orville) Zerzanik of Washington state, and Geraldine Snetsinger of Phoenix, Arizona.
A memorial service was held at the Coon Rapids Care Center with all of her family and friends in attendance. She was cremated and buried in Greenwood Memory Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona next to Manley.
