John's obituary was published in the Hamilton Evening News (Butler County, Ohio), June 4, 1928, page 14.
John Neimeyer, one of Butler County's pioneer residents, died at his home in Trenton, Monday morning at the age of 90 years, one month and nine days.
Born in St. Clair township on April 25, 1838, he passed the greater part of his life in Trenton. He was the son of Jacob and Sarah Neimeyer, early settlers in the county. The deceased for a great number of years was a lumber dealer.
He is survived by one son, Charles, of Duluth, Minn.; one daughter, Mrs. John Daub, of Trenton; two brothers, A.J. Neimeyer, of Pasadena, Calif., and Charles Neimeyer of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Hathaway, of Denver, Col.; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place from the residence Wednesday afternoon with Rev. J. E. Amstatz, of Mennonite church officiating. Interment will be made in Hickory Flat Cemetery.
