He was born Sept. 9, 1908 in Chilton, a son of the late Henry and Margaret Petesch Depies.
On June 18, 1938 he married Bernice Vogel at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chilton. She preceded him in death on July 27, 1987.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and a member of the Catholic Knights.
Edgar was the owner of Depies Feeds and Hatchery.
Survivors are three sons: Dennis (Grace) of Albuquerque, N.M., Peter (Pamela) and Robert (Cynthia), both of New Holstein; four daughters, Diana (James) Burns of Greendale, Patricia (John) Hubbard of Windsor, Wis., Sharon (Ronald) Brown of Cudahy and Barbara Depies of New Holstein; 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Walter of New Holstein and Henry (Hildegarde) of Chilton. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and one sister.
Friends may call at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein on Friday, JANUARY 9, 1998 from 3 p.m. until the time of services. A funeral mass will be held on Friday at 6 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Frank Weber, officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
A memorial fund will be established in his name. Sippel Funeral Home of New Holstein is assisting the family.
