WEST POINT, Ga. -- Mrs. Mattie Black, 83, of West Point, died Tuesday at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Ga.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church in West Point with the Rev. Wayne Greathouse and the Rev. Monroe Driver officiating. Burial will follow in Shawmut Cemetery in Valley.
Mrs. Black is survived by four daughters, Doris Siggers, Jewel Fay Rice, Gloria B. Waller all of West Point, and Mary A Rogers of Cusseta; three sons, John C. Black of West Point, Kenny T. Black of Stockbridge, Ga., and Franklin Lee Black of Beulah; two sisters, Bertha Moldey of Columbus, Ga., and Doris Fowler of Opelika; one brother, Raymond Price of Opelika; 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
A native of Chambers County, Mrs. Black was a member of Northside Baptist Church in West Point. She was a homemaker and had been active in her church. She had been in declining health for two years.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7-9 at McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point.
McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point is handling arrangements.
