Funeral services are planned for Saturday, June 26 at 11 a.m. EDT, 10 a.m. CDT at Pine Grove United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mark McCarty, Ricky Thomaston and David Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at Shawmut Cemetery.
Mr. Black is survived by his daughter, Elaine Black Marshall of Cusseta; his son, Franklin Lee (Linda) Black Jr. of Beulah; five grandchildren, William Brandon Wright, Savannah Marshall, Franklin Lee Black III, Jeffrey Black and Kayla Black; three greatgrandchildren, Tyler Wright, Danyale Wright and Kyndal Wright; one sister, Gloria (Roy) Waller of West Point; and a brother, Kenny (Lillian) Black of Stockbridge, Ga.
Born Jan. 10, 1937 in Troup County, Mr. Black was the son of the late Mattie Price Black and the late Cary Black. He retired from WestPoint Stevens with 40 years of service. Thirty of those years were at Lanier Mill. Mr. Black was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He believed in his lord. Mr. Black was an avid Braves fan and enjoyed square dancing. He loved his family very much and loved helping his fellow man. Mr. Black was of the Christian faith.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials will be made to Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 7235 U. S.
