MARY BLACK ROGERS
13 Oct 1938 – 5 Oct 2001

Mrs. Mary Black Rogers, 62, of Cusseta, AL died Friday, 5 Oct 2001 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, 7 Oct 2001 at Johnson Chapel Baptist Church with Rev Robert Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Huguley, AL.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Rogers of Cusseta, AL; one daughter, Donna Nelson Allen of Cusseta, AL; a step-daughter, Catherine Rogers Hussein of Manassas Park, VA; two sons, Marty (Pam) Nelson of Beulah, AL and Jimmy (Louise) Nelson of Lanett, AL; a step-son, Christoph (Maria) Rogers of Germany; two sisters, Faye Rice of LaGrange, GA and Gloria Waller of West Point, GA; two brothers, Kenny Black of Stockbridge, GA and Franklin Black Sr. of Cusseta, AL; and 12 grandchildren.

Mrs. Rogers was born 13 Oct 1938 in LaGrange, GA, the daughter of the late Mattie Price Black and Carey Andrew Black. She was retired from West Point Stevens Lanier Mill with 25 years of service. She was a long-time clogger and was a founding charter member and instructor of the Stateline Stompers Clogging Club. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener.

The family will receive friends Saturday, 6 Oct 2001 from 7 to 9 p.m. at McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point, GA.
