MRS. RICE
LAGRANGE -- Mrs. Jewell Fay Rice, 68, of LaGrange died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003 at Twin Fountains Home in LaGrange.
A memorial graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. at Shawmut Cemetery in Lanett with Captain Williams of the Salvation Army officiating.
Mrs. Rice is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Black of LaGrange; her son, Ricky Black of Apple Valley, Calif.; her sister, Gloria Waller of West Point; two brothers, Franklin L. Black of Cusseta, Ala., and Kenny T. Black of Stockbridge, Ga.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Born Oct. 24, 1934 in Troup County, Mrs. Rice was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. She was the daughter of the late Mattie Price Black and Cary Andrew Black.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Salvation Army, 202 Church St., LaGrange, Ga., 30240.
McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point is handling arrangements.
