While visiting a friend in Arcadia, Sadie met John. Two years later they were married. J.C. farmed a few years then went to work for Louisiana Highway Department. Sadie devoted her time to raising her family. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a good seamstress and sewed for people. She also liked to cook and baked pies for people. She had a great love for her church and was always ready to help any way she could.

Mrs. Chandler passed away May 29, 1988 at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport LA. She was a homemaker and a member of Gibsland First United Pentecostal Church.
