November 1942 I volunteered for the Air Force. I was inducted at Ft. Humburg, Shreveport LA at the age of 20. I took basic training at Lake Charles LA. Early in 943 I was shipped to Aloe Air Base at Victoria TX. Feb. 1944, I was shipped overseas and stayed 2 years in England. I was stationed at a supply depot. I drove a truck and hauled supplies to shipping ports on the coast. While there I saw Bob Hope and his troupe preform. I was shipped back to the States February 1946 and was honorably discharged Feb. 26, at Hattisburg MS. I worked with Papa on the farm that year. Early in 1949 I moved to Springhill LA where I worked for International Paper Company for 9 1/2 years. During this time I felt a call to the ministry and later felt compelled to move to SC. August 15, 1956 my wife Lorene Cox, our 6 year old daughter Rhoda Lynn and I, left LA for SC. In May, we moved to Greenwood where we established a church. We moved from Greenwood to Cayce, August 1964. We have pastored a Church in Cayce since then.
