"After growing up in a good christian home, I met and married Dallas. In April, 1941 he was drafted into the Army. Because he was an only son he was discharged six months later but four months later he was recalled to Fort Benning GA. While he was there I worked at the Tom's Peanut plant. He was sent from there to Camp Rookes AL and then to Burlington VT. Then overseas to France, Belgium, and Germany. I came home and worked at the Army Ammunition plant until it closed. Dallas returned to the US on the S.S. Argentina, which sailed from LeHarve France Nov. 8, 1945. My last job was at the poultry plant in Arcadia. I'm still teaching a sunday school class."
