Final rites for T. F. Fletcher held at Pinetta
Final rites for Thomas Franklin (Frank) Fletcher, Sr., Rt. 2, Ocilla, who died at 10 p.m. Wednesday (July 11, 1973) in Irwin County Hospital were conducted from Pinetta Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Rev. Bobby Stone and Elder Ashley Griffin officiated. Mrs. Jimmy Vance was pianist and singers were Mrs. Vernon Stringer, Mrs. Carlton Stringer, Mrs. Jack Thompson and Sharon Thompson. Interment followed in Pinetta Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Amos Fletcher, Paul Fletcher, Warren Paulk, Lamar Clements, Howard Blount, and J. M. Blount.
Born October 22, 1903 in Irwin County, he was the son of the late James Paulk and Lenora Hutchinson Fletcher.He was married to the late Thelma Blount Fletcher and had lived in the community all of his life.
Survivors include: Four sons, Frank Fletcher, Jr., James M. Fletcher, Thomasville; Charles H. Fletcher, Cordele; and John D. Fletcher, Sylvester.
One daughter, Mrs. Lenora Townsend, Macon.
Two brothers, Warren and Clinton Fletcher both of Ocilla.
Three sisters, Mrs. Alice Dorminy, Fitzgerald, and Mrs. Ines Paulk, Willacoochee. And Kate who became a Registered Nurse, married and
had 5 sons in about 5 years and died. Lived in Miami, Fla.
Fourteen grandchildren also survive.
