Monday May 3, 2004 Vernis Lesslie Barron,75, of Madison died April 30 at his home. Mr. Barron was born in Randolph County on August 28, 1928, a son of Floyd Barron and Mary Hunt Barron. He was a 30 year employee of the Wabash, Norfolk and Southern and Norfolk and Western Railroad, a farmer and cattle buyer. He married Edith Ray Swartz on September 15, 1951, in Harrison Arkansas. A member of the Shriners and Masonic Lodge in Moberly, Mo. Mr. Barron was of the Baptist faith. surviving are his wife, Edith; foster son, Daniel L. Barron, Moberly; brothers, Virgil Barron, Chicago, Ill; Frankie Barron, St. Louis; Gerald Wayne Barron and Muriel Barron, Moberly; and a sister, Gladys Johnson, Moberly, Nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 o'clock tonight at Million and Taylor Funeral Home in Madison with a Masonic Service at 7:30. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Middle Grove Christian Church with Rev. Stanley Fretwell officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Moberly.
