Raymond L. Tipton of West Grove, PA

Raymond L. Tipton, 78, of West Grove, PA, died Tuesday in Pocopson Home after a long illness. He was the husband of Kathryn Prange Tipton.

Born in Pigeon Roost, Relief, NC, he was a son of the late Fieldon and Hester Lewis Tipton.

He was a retired carpenter.

Mr. Tipton was a member of the West Grove Presbyterian Church, and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union 465 of Philadelphia.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Charles R. of Kennett Square, PA; Norman R. of West Grove, PA; and Richard D. of Quarryville, PA; three daughters, Pauline Jones of Wilmington, Del.; Lois E. Porter of Coatesville, PA; and Constance K. Tipton of Glendale, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and eight brothers, Henry of Potter County, PA; Erb of Gap, PA; Edward, Isaac, and Fieldon all of Downingtown, PA; Richard of Lenni, PA; and Bruce and Samuel both of Coatesville, PA.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in the Robert W. Cleveland Funeral Home, Avondale, PA, with interment in Faggs Manor Presbyterian Cemetery, Londonderry Township, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
