Sanders Cox Powell, born June 16, 1924 to Parley and Olive Powell in Coalville, Utah, died August 1, 2011 in Murray, Utah at Intermountain Medical Center, formerly the location of Otto Buehner Co., where he worked as a pattern maker.

Married Norma Blanchard in the Salt Lake Temple on November 18, 1949. Father to James, Faye, Val, Reed, and Ned. Beloved grandpa.

He loved the Lord, Norma, his family, and scouting. He lived a life of integrity, honesty, and courage. He made the best homemade root beer, told corny jokes, and whistled.

A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East), East Millcreek. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 in the Grandview II Ward Chapel, 2930 South 2000 East, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing at 10:00 a.m.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
