Funeral services for Mrs. Carolina J. Carlson, 71, are scheduled for Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Christensen Funeral Home, 925 3rd Avenue.

The Rev. E.G. Knock, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was a member, will officiate and burial will be in Scandinavian Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carlson, who died Tuesday evening at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ferdinand Fritz, 1612 Benton Street, after a year's illness, had lived in Rockford many years.

She was born May 18, 1873, in Westergotland, Sweden, and came to the United States when she was three years old. For some time she resided in Pecatonica, where on Dec. 28, 1897, she was married to C. Edward Carlson, who died last March.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Fritz and Mrs. B.M. Guinn, Rockford; three sons, Wilbur E. and Harold R., Rockford, and Clarence W. , Chicago; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gusta Phelps and Miss Mary Stenstrom, Rockford, and two brothers, J.A. Stenstrom and City Street Superintendent A.E. Stenstrom.

Two of Mrs. Carlson's grandsons in the armed forces are Cp. Brooks M. Guinn, Jr., recently reported as missing in Luxembourg, and Edward C. Guinn, seaman, first class, in the South Pacific.
