ROCKFORD - Wilbur E. Carlson, 89, of Fairview Park, Ohio, died at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2001, in Lakewood (Ohio) Hospital. Born Aug. 17, 1911, in Rockford, the son of Carl E. and Johana Stenstrom Carlson. Wilbur lived most of his life in Rockford and was employed as a consultant for W.E. Carlson Co. Married to the former Lucille Jenne. Member of Faith Lutheran Church in Lakewood.
Survivors include wife, Lucille of Fairview Park daughters, Dr. Carolyn Carlson, Lois (Ken) Hines and Joan (Jim) Mattson son, Robert (Diane) Carlson; stepdaughter, Barbara Schmidt; grandchildren, Kevin (Michelle) Hines, Lisa (Mike) Maisel, Jason (Nadean) Mattson, Jennifer Mattson, Dana and Ryan Carlson and Jeffrey and David Schmidt; seven great-grandchildren; and uncle of many.
Predeceased by first wife, Nell; sisters, Edna Fritz and Mildred Guin; brothers, Roy, Edward, Clarence and Harold Carlson; and stepson, Robert L. Schmidt.
Services at 11 a.m. Monday, May 21, in Ulrey Funeral Home-Chapel of the Chimes, 7000 W. State St., with the Rev. Denver Bitner, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park.
