Mrs. Gusta C. Phelps
Services for Mrs. Gusta C. Phelps, 86, 608 Oak St., who died Sunday in her home, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the McAllister-Julian-Poorman funeral home, 304 N. 5th St. The Rev. Russell Wharton Lambert, De Kalb, former pastor of Centennial Methodist Church here, will officiate. Burial will be in Pecatonica cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home between 7 and 9 o'clock tonight.
A resident of Rockford for 33 years, Mrs. Phelps was born Jan. 30, 1864, in Sweden, the daughter of John and Anna Stenstrom. She married Simon D. Phelps Sept. 14, 1887 in Lena. She was a member of Centennial Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ora Dunn, of the Oak St. address; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Stenstrom, Rockford. Her husband died March 11, 1911.
