Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, at St. Francis Xavier Church. The Rev. Wilbert Hegener, OFM, will officiate and burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
The former Jennie L. Griffin was born Oct. 6, 1903, in Conway, the daughter of Charles and Mary Anges(Ferriman) Griffin. She grew up in Conway and attended the Conway school.
On Sept. 4, 1928, she married Joseph C. Foster in Petoskey. The couple resided in Petoskey and Mr. Foster preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1941.
Mrs. Foster resided in Petoskey except for a period of five years when she spent her winters at the home of her son in Virginia.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and a member of Blue Star Mothers.
Survivors include five sons, John(Jack)Foster of Chesapeake,Va., James Foster and Arthur Foster, both of Petoskey, Leo Foster of Belford, N.J., Andrew Foster of Marne; three daughters, Mrs. Lyle(Mary Anges) Grigsby of Round Rock, Texas, Mrs. Lewis(Patricia)Winters of Carp Lake, Margaret Pennell of Petoskey; 40 grandchildren,39 great-grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials to St. Francis Xavier Endowment Fund. Envelopes for that purpose are available at the Stone Funeral Home where friends may call 7-8 p.m. today(Monday). a rosary will be recited at 8p.m. today at the funeral home.
