Leo Thomas Foster,67, of Victoria, Va., formerly of Middletown Township, N.J., died Wednesday Oct. 16, 2002, at his home.
He retired in 2001 as superintendent of Fair View Cemetery, Middletown,N.J., where he worked for 28 years.
He was born April 21, 1935, in Petoskey. Mr. Foster lived in Victoria, Va., since February 2001 and was previously from the Belford section of Middletown Township.
His wife, Mary Anne(Aichele) Foster, preceded him in death on May 18, 2002.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda Suan Foster Laub, Mary Katherine Muniz, Genevieve Louise Grant, Cheryl Lee Cash; step daughters, Jennifer Anne Lopes Reichart; brothers, Jack Foster, James Foster and Andrew Foster; sisters, Margaret Pennell and Patricia Ann Winters; 10 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, mary, he was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Charles Foster, his mother, Jennie Griffin, and a son, Leo T. Foster.
Mr. Foster was a member of V.F.W. Post 2179 Port Monmouth, N.J.; American Legion Post 338, Leonardo, N.J.; active member of the Republican Party; Board of trustees to Fair View Cemetery, member of the New Jersey Cemetery Board; and coached soccer and baseball.
He served in the Army from 1953 until 1973 and served in Viet Nam having attained the rank of Master Sergeant.
Visitation was held 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Oct 21, at the John F. Pleger Funeral Home in Middltown,N.J.
A funeral gathering was held at 9:45 a.m. today, Tuesday, Oct 22, at the funeral home with funeral liturgy at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Burial took place in the Fair View Cemetery in Middletown.
