Patricia Foster Winters,76,of Petoskey,went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Aug.9, 2002,at home. Per her wishes she chose cremation with no services.
Patricia was born July 19, 1933, in Petoskey, the daughter of Joseph and Jenny (Griffin) Foster.
She grew up in Petoskey and attended school at St. Francis Xavier School and was a graduate of Petoskey High School class of 1951.
On Dec. 31, 1953, she married Lewis(Bud) Winters at St. Francis X. Church in Petoskey. She was employed at Toski Sands Market for 19 years, and enjoyed reading,knitting,deer hunting and fishing.
Survivors are Patricia's husband of 56 years, Lewis(Bud) Winters; two sons, Lewis and Dixie Winters and Stephen and Teresa Winters;daughter, Terrie(Winters) and Donald Neill; nine grandchildren, Loren Winters of Petoskey, Tony and Alisa Winters of Texas, Stephen Winters Jr., Copperas, Texas, Jennifer Wiggins, Presque Isle, Maine, Sharon Hitchings of Ohio, Melinda Hitchings of Petoskey, Jason Hitchings of Petoskey, Amanda Neill of Petoskey, and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Jack Foster of Kenbridge,Va., and Andy(Betty)Foster of Petoskey;sister, Margaret Pennell; sister-in-law, Fran Foster;brother-in-law, Lyle Grigsby.
Patricia was preceded in death by siblings, baby Jerry Foster,Agnes Grigsby,and James,Leo, and Arthur Foster.
The family suggests memorials to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place,Memphis,Tenn. 38105
