Mrs. Charles Davis has Paralytic stroke Passes Away Monday
Mrs. Charles Davis, who lives in the southeast part of Stewardson, was stricken with paralysis last Thursday afternoon, August 22, 1940. Her condition has been serious since then. She has been unconscious practically all of the time since the stroke.
Mrs. Davis passed away at 10:50 Monday morning August 26, 1940
Emaline Keller, daughter of Andrew and Melinda Keller was born in Shelby County, August 4, 1863, and passed from this earthly life at her home Monday, August 26, 1940, at the age of 77 years 22 days.
She was married to Charley Davis December 30, 1880. She united with the Green Creek church at the age of 16, later moving her membership to the Stewardson Christian Church, where she was a devoted Christian and a faithful member until death.
Mrs. Davis was the mother of 12 children, two having preceded their mother in death. She leaves to mourn her departure, her aged husband and 10 children, namely, Howard, Martha, Nellie, Everett, Lottie, Bertha, Rena, Emery, Arthur, Marion, 43 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one sister Sinda Beals, one brother Daniel Keller, one aged uncle, Bud Keller, besides a host of relatives and friends. Grandma Davis was a lover of home and her chief joy consisted in doing for her loved ones. Besides her own children, she gave a home to many others.
Funeral services were conducted at the Christian Church at 2 PM Wednesday, Burial was in the Mound Cemetery.
