Wakarusa Tribune: 24 March 1971: Paul E. Schieber, 50, of 1603 Spruce Lane, Elkhart, was dead on arrival at South Bend Memorial Hospital Monday afternoon, March 22. He suffered an apparent heart attack while working as a carpenter with Place and Co. of South Bend. He was born in Wakarusa on Oct. 28, 1919, to Lawrence and Nellie (Doering) Schieber. On Sept. 8, 1945, he married Mary Jane Longfield. She died Feb. 23, 1955. He was then married to Mary Jane Frantz on Sept. 21, 1967. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Jenny L., Nappanee; his mother, Mrs. Nellie Schieber, Nappanee; two sisters, Misses Marie and Fern Schieber, both of Nappanee, and three brothers, Dean, Walter and Devon, all of Wakarusa. Mr. Schieber was a member of The William A. Reed American Legion Post of Wakarusa and a veteran of World War II. Friends are being received at the Lienhart Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday, March 25 at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Bill Lincoln, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church will officiate with burial in Olive Cemetery.
