newspapers.com MUSCODA - Mrs. Carrie O. Bartels, age 81, of Muscoda, passed away Sunday, September 13, 1981, in the Riverdale Manor after a long illness. She was the former Carrie Milham and was born March 6, 1900, in Nebraska, the daughter of Albert and Harriet Milham. She was married to Amos R. Bartels February 5, 1919 and they farmed in Crawford, Grant and Richland Counties before their retirement. He preceded her in death April 22, 1975. Surviving are three sons, LeRoy of Madison, Virgil of Necedah, Junior of Aurora, Illinois; eight daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Eloise) Seiger of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mrs. Kenneth (Emily) Kolman, Mrs. Rodney (Maxine) Vance both of Muscoda, Mrs. Reuben (Margery) Mohr of Prairie du Chien, Mrs. Harold (Elizabeth) Huft of Tucker, Georgia, Evelyn Blood of Donna, Texas, Mrs. Marvin (Kathleen) Pursell of Rock Falls, Illinois, Mrs. Richard (Susie) Balousek of Cuba City, Wisconsin; 30 grandchildren; 15 step- grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 23 step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 17 at 1:30 p.m. in the UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, with the Reverend John P. Yingling officiating. Burial will be in the Coumbe cemetery, near Blue River. Friends may call at the GODAGER FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m.
