Maxine Vance, 74 of Muscoda, died Saturday, July 21, 2007 at her home. She was born May 15, 1933 in Muscoda the daughter of Amos and Carrie (Milham) Bartels. On July 25, 1951 Maxine married Rodney Vance. Maxine worked at Marathon Cheese and Allen-Bradley. Maxine was a member of the Muscoda American Legion Auxiliary and the United Church of Muscoda Presbyterian.

Maxine is survived by three children, David Vance of Muscoda, Jeanne (Tom) Turkelson of Midland, Michigan, Lori (Dan) Post of Oregon, WI, seven grandchildren, Shawn Turkelson, Carrie (Bob) Fox, Shandi (Armand) White, Lindsay, Marissa, Matthias, and Isabella Post, 8 brothers and sisters, Eloise (Lyle) Sieger of Charlotte, NC, Virgil Bartels of Tomah, Emily Kolman of Muscoda, Margy Mohr of Prairie du Chein, Junior (Mary) Bartels of Genoa, IL, Evelyn Haight of Mission, TX, Kathleen (Marvin) Pursell of Rock Fall, IL, Susie (Richard) Balousek of Verona, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rodney, brother Leroy, and sister Elizabeth.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the United Church of Muscoda Presbyterian with Pastor Roger Koester officiating. Friends may call at the Godager Funeral Home on Friday, July 27, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again at the church on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. The Godager Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements.
