Emily Kolman, 90, of Muscoda died Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Pine Valley Healthcare. She was born January 1, 1924 in Steuben the daughter of Amos and Carrie (Millham) Bartels. On August 22, 1944 Emily married Kenneth Kolman at the Methodist Church in Muscoda. To this union one daughter, Patricia Ann, was born. The couple farmed for 16 years, then in October of 1959 they sold out and moved to Muscoda. Emily went to work at Walsh's in Muscoda until 1968 when Emily and Kenneth found employment at the University of Wisconsin as Building Maintenance Helpers until 1979. Emily continued to work cleaning, working at Homeward Bound, serving hot lunch for the Riverdale School until her retirement in 1988 when she became an Avon Representative. Emily enjoyed fishing, reading, gardening, flowers, plastic canvas, crocheting, dancing, going out to eat, traveling by bus and helping out at the Red Cross Bloodmobile. She loved her cats.

Emily is survived by her daughter Patricia Nichols, Two granddaughters: Crystal (Lyle Kinnison), Anglia Nichols, Five great-grandchildren: Brandi Ubersox (Robert Miller), Tye Kenneth J. Wendling, Cheyanne (Nathan) Goodwin, Logan Pyfferoen, Tara Pyfferoen; Two great-great-grandchildren: Trinity Miller, Bentley Miller, Four sisters: Eloise (Lyle) Seiger, Margie Mohr, Kathleen (Marvin) Pursell, Susie (Dick) Balousek, many other relatives and friends.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents Amos and Carrie, husband Kenneth in 1987, brothers: Virgil, LeRoy, Junior Bartles, and sisters: Elizabeth Huff, Maxine Vance, Evelyn Haight.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home with Pastor Duane Thomas officiating. Friends may call at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home on Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 10:30 AM until the time of the services at 12:00 PM.
