Chester O. Brown, 76, of R. 4, Bloomington, died at 6:30 a.m. today at the Bloomington Convalescent Center.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Day Mortuary.

Funeral services for Chester O. ("Brownie") Brown, 76, of R. 4, Bloomington, who died Friday, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Day Mortuary, with burial in the Clear Creek Cemetery. The Rev. Dale Kindle will officiate.
Brown was born July 26, 1900, the son of E. J. Brown and Elizabeth (Koontz) Brown. He was a farmer and stone mill worker and a lifelong resident of Monroe County.
Survivors include his wife, Clois (Newlin) Brown; two daughters, Mrs. Vernal (Margaret) Snyder, of Bloomington, and Mrs. Sylvan (Estelle) Miller, of R. 13, Bloomington; a son, Paul Ed Brown, R. 4, Bloomington; a brother, Ercell Brown, of Bloomington; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul and William E., both of Bloomington; and a sister, Mary Stansifer.
Friends may call from 7-9 tonight and Sunday from 2-9 p.m., and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the mortuary.
