OBIT From the Sheboygan Press Fri Feb 15, 1946: "Phillip J. Winkel, 71, of 730 N. Wisconsin Street in this city (Port Washington) died of asthma complications at 7 AM Thursday at his home; he had been active up to two days before. Mr. Winkel, a lifetime resident of this city, was born in Port Washington on Oct. 24, 1874, and on Nov. 21, 1900, he was married to Katherine Jacque at St Marys Church here. They settled in this city where they continued to reside. He was employed at the Wisconsin Chair Company up to the time of his death. He is survived by his wife and five daughters; Mrs. Harold (Caroline) Hayes of this city, Mrs. Arthur (Eleanore) Scholl of Sheboygan, Mrs Harold (Julia) Muehlberg, Mrs. Donald (Virginia) Greiveldinger and Mrs William (Dorothy) Karasch, all of this city; two sisters Mrs Peter Biever and Mae Winkel, both of Port Washington, and two brothers, Hilarius [Winkel] of Milwaukee and Nic. Winkel of the town of Port Washington; also nine grandchildren.....Interment will be made in St. Mary's cemetery."
