OBIT from Sheboygan Press Wed May 12, 1937: "Mrs. Sibilla Winkel, 84, one of the oldest pioneer residents of the town of Port Washington, died at the home of her son Nic. H. Winkel, in the town of Port Washington Tuesday mornig at 8 o'clock. Her death was attributed to the infirmities of old age; she had been ailing for several years. Mrs. Winkel, nee Altenbach, was born in the town of Port Washington on July 23, 1852. Her entire lifetime was spent in that township. In 1871 she was married to Peter Winkel, and they established their home on a farm there and celebrated their golden anniversary in 1921. Mr. Winkel died July 30, 1932. Mrs. Winkel is survived by two daughters, Mae of the town of Port Washington and Mrs. Peter Biever of this city; three sons; Nic. H. and Phillip J., both of the town of Port Washington and Hilarius M., of Milwaukee. Two sisters, Miss Kate Altenbach and Mrs. R. Sanders, both of Milwaukee, and one brother, Peter, of Milwaukee, also survive. Mrs. Winkel was a member of the Christian Mother's Society of this city for many years. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church here, and the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Peter Holfeltz will donduct the rites. Burial will be made in St. Mary's cemetery." ************ Added Information: Father was Hilarius ALTENDORF & her mother was Margaretha SCHOLL.
