Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Rebecca Chapman, 73, Pond Creek, were held Friday in the chapel of the Fossett Funeral Home, Enid, with the Rev. Walter Gore in charge. Mrs. Chapman died in an Enid hospital after an illness of two years. Burial was in the Waukomis Cemetery.

Born near Haddam, KS, Mrs. Chapman came to Custer County, OK with her parents as a girl. She was married to Avery H. Chapman on August 29, 1900 at the home of her parents near the present village of Stafford, Custer County, OK. After living in several towns they finally settled in Pond Creek in 1953.

Survivors include her husband, five sons and three daughters; 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
