Mr. Otha Thomas Durrett, son of the late Mr. Willis Durrett and Mrs. Betty Bennett Durrett was born February 15, 1902 in Green County and departed this life at 10 p.m. Thursday, February 26,1976 in the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. He was 74 years and nine day of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Forrest Cumberland Presbyterian Church at the time of his death.
He united in marriage to Miss Lura Adis Milby January 7, 1920, who survives. To this union were born six sons and one daughter. Surviving are: Hyman and Vurnis Durrett, both of Summersville; Buford Durrett, Louisville; Ancil Durrett and Calvin Durrett both of Greensburg and Mrs. Louise Hodges, Greensburg. Willis Jeff Durrett preceded his father in death.
Mr. Durrett is also survived by 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
The remains were at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of services at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 29, 1976 at the Oak Forrest Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in the Wilson Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Revs. Shiley Beard, James Parker and Glen Kapperman officiated.
Pallbearers were: Ronnie Bishop, G. C. Parker, Doug Hodges, Mike Durrett, Steve Durrett and Jimmie Durrett.
