Jane Ursula Easterly was born Sept. 22, 1822 in Gloversville, New York, the first of 8 children of Martin & Elizabeth Easterly. She had siblings Martha, Mary, Henry, Emily, Louisa, Sarah & Harriet.
Jane was 21 when she married Willard Hopkins, he was 31, on Dec. 5, 1843 after his first wife Lucy died.
They had eight children listed above. She raised her eight children plus her two step children.
Jane was 59y, 5m, 26d old when she died on March 17, 1882 in Greenwich and is buried in the Nineveh Cemetery, Greenwich Township along with Willard and his first wife Lucy.
