Funeral services for Jess Dwain Lynch, 77, Holliday, were held with Rev. Jack Dial and Rev. Paul Kuykendall, both of the Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church, and Gil Peters officiating.

He and Delia Jo Minnix were married May 15, 1947, in Henrietta.

He was a veteran of World War II, decorated with two Purple Hearts among his many service awards.

Before 1974, he worked in the oil field and following that until retirement in 1985, he worked in material handling at PPG Industries Inc.

As a resident of Holliday, he served on the city council and helped organize the first volunteer fire department department.

He was the president of the cemetery association and an active member of the Holliday Senior Citizens.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Jo Carol "Missy" Hoague, Holliday; four brothers, Frank Lynch, Arlington, Winifred Lynch, Baltimore, Maryland, Eddie Lynch, Eunice, New Mexico, and Carl Lynch, Hobbs, New Mexico; six sisters, Leota Gilbert, Arlington, Alma Adams, Olney, Elsie LaRue, Eunice, New Mexico, Lois Vaught, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Opal Moneyham, Bowie, and Charlene Mann, McKinney; three grandchidren; and two stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jess Wayne Lynch, August 28,1965, and two daughters, Lola Jean Lynch, October 7, 1947, and Edna Darlene Lynch, March 8, 1950.
