Winford J. Lynch, age 89, died Thursday August 2, 2012 in Silver City, New Mexico. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with David Kee officiating assisted by Andy Graham. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Windy was born on August 4, 1922 in Breckenridge, Texas to the late Joseph and Bessie (White) Lynch. He and Kay Chavis were married on March 11, 1975 in Baltimore, Maryland. Windy had worked in the Engineering department as a mechanic for thirty-four years with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroads. He had attended both Megargel and Bittercreek schools and grew up in Archer and Young counties. Windy served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Church of God. Windy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kay in November 2005; sisters: Ruby Martin, Leota Gilbert, Lois Vaught, Garnet Otwell, Alma Adams, and Elsie Dowell; brothers: Elwin Ray, Frank, Jess, and Carl Lynch.

Survivors include a brother Edmund Lynch and wife Marie of Hobbs, New Mexico; sisters: Opal Moonyham of Bowie, Texas, and Charlene Mann of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; also his caregivers, niece Darlene Clark and husband Robert of Apache Junction, Arizona

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
