On Aug. 14, 1867, in Nappanee, married Barbara Mast, born Oct. 25, 1846, in Kearney, Nebraska, the daughter of Joseph D. and Magdalena (Schlabach) Mast.
Emanuel comes from a long line of farmers in northern Indiana, like his father and grandfather, Emanuel farmed large homestead southwest of Nappanee, and a large plot of ground in the Plymouth area.
Like most people in the mid 1800's, religion was a large part of their lives, the Kring's were no exception, they were members of The Church of The Brethren.
The union between Emanuel and Barbara blessed them with 10 children; Norman (1887-1958), Mary (1870-1929), George (1872-1892), Susan (1874-1958), Henry (1876-1879) William (1878-1879) John (1880-1948), Margaret (1883-1965), Jesse (1885-1894), Samuel (1885-1964).
After the death of Barbara in 1898, Emanuel married for the second time to Lydia Baughman in 1899, and a third marriage to Oar Bashford Frick. (No date)
On Nov. 11, 1915, Emanuel passed away in Elkhart, Indiana, of natural causes. He was laid to rest in Hepton Union Cemetery, Kosclusko Co., Indiana.
