George Kring, 70, of South Bend, a third generation Kring's born in America, past away on Sunday after noon following a short illness. Occupation, farmer.

George was born on Sept. 25, 1823, to Fredrick and Elizabeth (Stien) Kring of Osnaberg, Oh..

In July of 1846, George married Eyva Joseph, of Canton Oh.; born Sept. 20, 1828, in Haiger, Germany. In 1847, the Kring family, George's parents, George and his wife, and 9 brothers and sisters, packed up the covered wagon, and headed for Indiana. A month later, they arrived in the South Bend area and started farming again. About a year later, George decided to break away from his father. He and his wife moved to Napanee, Ind., Bought himself a farme where he spent the rest of his days. In 1869, wife Eyva past away. In 1870, George married his 2nd wife, Margaret Ackeret, born Apr. 8, 1824, of Canton Turgan Schweitz, Germany.

George and Evya were the proud parents of 6 sons, and 3 daughters.
