MUNCIE--Mr. Kenneth C. Burtner, 89, of Muncie, passed away Thursday at Ball Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Redkey, IN, to Henry S. and Ethel O. (Overman) Burtner.
Ken was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Air Force. He then owned and operated Burco, Inc. Building Contractors and retired from Warner Gear after 18 years of service. Ken was a member of Full Gospel Temple.
Survivors include his brother, Harold G. Burtner (wife-Theresa) of Muncie, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vivian; two brothers, Willard and Lowell Burtner; and a sister, Henrietta Jefferies.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at Parson Mortuary, with Pastors Bill McCoy and Denny Helton officiating. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum.Visitation for friends and family will be one hour prior to service noon-1 p.m. on Monday at Parson Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
